The perfect white jeans

I wear white jeans a lot. I am also really bad at keeping clothes white... I spill, spend a lot of time outside and am just not very careful with my clothes in general. When it comes to jeans I like to buy good quality ones that will last and look great but spending a lot of money on a white pair of jeans is a bad idea for me because they just don't stay that pretty white color and then I want to get rid of them. So over the last few years I've tried out white jeans from Zara, Old Navy and H&M in an effort to find an affordable pair in a classic style that can be my go to each time I need a new pair. I think I found them! I bought a pair of of these GAP 1969 mid-rise real straight jeans and they are perfect! Plus, these are on sale for $27.99 and I had recently received an email promo code for 40% off my next order. Yeah... I got two.  I ordered them in tall because they are skimmers. They run a bit small and one thing that never looks good is overly tight white jeans so I recommend ordering up a size. GAP has free shipping over $50 and free shipping on returns for anything that doesn't work.

Sorry, this sort of sounds like an advertisement. (Hey GAP, you should pay me for this!) I just felt like I struck gold with these and wanted to share while they were still on sale.

Rosemary Asal | Hand-me-downs and clothes with stories

I love to hear the interesting stories behind your clothes Seattle. This big beautiful sweater once belonged to Rosemary's mom. It's an extended/permanent borrowing situation. I have few things that ended up in my closet the very same way. Thanks Mom and Dad :)

Rosemary's socks carried her through a mountain trek in Denali. A badge of honor and a wearable reminder of a past adventure.

Agnes | Warm weather layering

I stopped Agnes for a photo downtown and we ended up walking and talking about restaurants and croissants all the way to North Capitol Hill. I get to meet the most wonderful people through street photography.

Baby and Co. Designer Closet Sale Weekend

Don't miss the designer closet sale that Baby and Co. has going on right now. I came home with a big bag full of incredible finds like an Eileen Fisher down cocoon coat for this winter ($75), the most perfect linen shirt ($30), and a pair of never worn leather Chelsea boots that I think might be my new most comfortable footwear ($85).

Easy healthy dinner: Deconstructed sushi

Ever since my coworker told me about her deconstructed sushi rolls they have become a weeknight mainstay for me. Even though the recipe is ridiculously simple and doesn't require any measuring or hard to find ingredients it just had never occured to me eat the ingredients I would put into sushi in the form of a bowl.

So here's what I do:
Any time I make a dish that includes rice I cook a double batch. All the leftover rice gets divided up into baseball sized servings in plastic bags that I place in the freezer. For the deconstructed sushi I just heat up one of the servings of frozen rice in a bowl with a wet paper towel over it and then I stir in rice vinegar, soy sauce ( I use Braggs liquid aminos) and whatever other ingredients I'm in the mood for that night. Generally it's just avocado and cucumber but occasionally I'll stop by the store on my way home and grab a crab leg to add in too. Other things I've used and loved are shredded carrot, asparagus, shredded nori and mango.

I had to share this simple but totally brilliant discovery.
