I've been eating out a lot in the last couple weeks. I wanted to share my favorite of these meals. We finally made it to
Plum's brunch and, let me tell you, the entire experience from the food to the service was fantastic.
We ordered the Panamanian style polenta and chile gravy with jalapeno scramble and avocados served with a pile of warm tortillas. I'm not usually super excited by tofu scrambles but this one was flavored beautifully with a light fluffy texture and with just the right amount of spiciness.
We also decided on the chile crusted seitan with sauteed jalapenos and fresh salsa on coconut, green mango and cucumber salad with chile and lime. This dish was such a lively mix of textures and a perfect mix of sweet and savory.
You just can't go wrong with Plum and the
Hillside Quickie family of vegan restaurants. I tried the brunch at
Sage on their opening day and it was delicious (unfortunately it was an unexpected stop and I didn't have the camera in tow).
