Marta Oliynik | Kirkland

I'm such a sucker for oversized blanket-esque wool scarves. Marta owns Pike Street Press, a letterpress print and design studio located in both Kirkland and downtown near Pike Place Market.

At home with Amanda King

I love getting to see the personal style of someone's home just as much as the way they dress. I've never been interested in cookie cutter, straight out of a decor magazine homes in the same sense that cookie cutter outfits just don't grab my attention. There's just something so beautiful about seeing someone express who they are through their home or the way they dress.

I ran into Amanda a few months back and after taking her photo she told me that she was leaving her lifelong home of Seattle and moving to LA. I asked her if I could feature her apartment on the blog before she left and she was kind enough invite me over during her last week in town when she could have been packing. So nice!

I've talked to other photo subjects in the past about doing this but we just never made it happen. I'm so glad Amanda and I followed through. If you or anyone you know would like to be a part of a feature like this let me know. It would be fun to these occasionally.

Helen Leichner and Andrew Pritzka | First Hill

Now that I'm living in First Hill I walk home through a totally different part of the hill. During the 6 years that I lived at my last place I saw a lot of people on a regular basis when walking to and from work. I'm looking forward to seeing who my new familiar faces will be. So far Don and I really love our new neighborhood.
