Old Scarf

Seattle Street Style
Since taking this photo I have been feeling much more inspired to incorporate my collection of vintage scarves into outfits more often. They tend to get forgotten in their cozy hat box on the top shelf in my closet. This was a good reminder how much one can easily add to an outfit.

The Madewell Event!

The event that I co-hosted at Madewell last Thursday was such fun. Thank you so much to the readers that stopped by and said hi!! It was so great to meet all of you. Hearing your thoughts on the blog and getting the chance to talk to you in person meant the world to me. You all are such a lovely bunch.

Here are some photos from the night...
Me being on the other side of the camera is a rare rare thing these days. Yes Jessica, that is the friendship bracelet you gave me back in college.

Three outfits styled by me:
The old backwards cardigan trick...

The lovely ladies of Madewell. Everyone was dressed so well I decided it best to just gather up the crew and take a photo of them all. What stylish ladies!

A perfect evening filled with wonderful people, good conversation, delicious drinks and beautiful clothes. Thanks again for coming.

My New Roots

Raw vegan brownie
Raw Vegan Cheesecake
Raw vegan Cheesecake

The snow kept Don in Seattle and working from home this week. The kitchen has been a constant flurry of cooking and baking since he got here last Saturday. I had to share these two recipes with you. Don has been making things from a blog I discovered recently called My New Roots run by chef and nutritionist Sarah Britton of Denmark. She is a genius with whole food cooking. Both this Raw Brownie and Raw Cashew Dreamcake are full of beautiful and nutritious ingredients that come together to create incredibly rich and decadent vegan desserts. Highly recommend making either (or both) of these.

Snow Day Part II

Blair- Broadway & Pine
By far the most impressive winter attire I came across yesterday. Blair told me that she has been collecting vintage pieces since high school and that she has had this coat for years. Yesterday was the perfect day for it.

Andrew- Broadway & Republican
I love the contrast of all of these classic heritage looking pieces mixed with the mismatched studs and spikes on his hood.

Sydney- Broadway & Howell
When the snow was still coming down and people were heading to work it was fun seeing everyone trying to stay covered with layers of everyday clothes mixed with snow attire. We don't have a need for snow gear in the city for the most part so on days like this everyone has to get creative. Sydney snagged her boyfriends coat for the trek.

After a long weekend battling a brutal cough/cold/flu/something horrible I finally woke up feeling better this morning. I bundled myself up, threw on some snow boots and headed out to look for photos in something you guys don't ever see on here... Snow! I was out for a while and passed quite a few people who caught my eye. Here is the first half... more to come tomorrow.

Hope you all are enjoying this weather as much as I am. Being from Idaho, I feel right at home.

White Pants Part I

Seattle Street Style

Seattle Street Style
Seattle Street StyleI have been seeing a lot of people, both men and women, wearing white pants this winter. Each time I see this it comes across as classic and clean and surprisingly very wintery. Fashion rules be damned!

Another post to follow tomorrow to solidify this...
