I've taken both Amanda and Rabia's photos before. These three girls all have beautiful and completely different style. We had a great conversation about each of our closets full of vintage and thrifted clothing and the amazing games of dress up that ensue with friends as a result. Look at the great collection of jewelry that was being worn on this day in particular. I love seeing people enjoying their favorite clothes and jewelry when they feel like it rather than waiting for a special occasion.

The creative girl added the chains and leather straps onto these boots herself. I love the idea that there aren't any boots like hers out there. Ps. Great bag!

Thanksgiving

vegetarian thanksgiving
We spent this Thanksgiving cooking for Don's family at our apartment. For a few years now it has just been he and I cooking for ourselves and every year Don has talked about wanting to cooking Thanksgiving dinner for his mom. It was such a great experience and all the food turned out perfectly. We did a lot of staple Thanksgiving side dishes with a vegetarian twist and had a "Neat Loaf" in place of turkey. As always though, Don's main focus was on bringing amazing desserts to the table. He made pecan pie, pumpkin brulee chessecake, caramel apple pie and a homemade version of those hostess cupcakes complete with the white curlicues. Yesterday was filled with leftover glory but today I'm ready for a little detox and all I can seem to get interested in is my tea drawer... possibly a bowl of oatmeal. Over indulgence success!

I hope you all had a beautiful holiday whether you cooked, watched someone else cook or ordered your favorite takeout. Happy Thanksgiving.

Michael and Kimberly of Kimberly Baker Jewelry

Kimberly Baker Jewelry
Kimberly Baker Jewelry
While wandering Fremont on Saturday Kimberly and fiance happened to be walking into her shop as I passed it. It is so rare that I get over to Fremont aside from going to the Sunday Market so I hadn't seen her jewelry before.

Kimberly Baker Jewelry
Kimberly Baker Bracelet
I've said it before but, how lucky are we to live in a place with such talent right outside our doorsteps? Her jewelry is glamorous while at the same time feeling so close to nature. This cuff is incredible. I have been on the hunt for the perfect one... I think I may have finally found it.

How is it that lipstick can act as such a striking, outfit-making accessory? I very rarely wear it myself as my daily makeup routine consists of tinted moisturizer and rosebud lip balm but when I do decide a few times a year to put it on I feel like it is the star of my outfit. When I see a bold color on other people it instantly catches my eye. It can be a bit of a pain keeping it from getting on everything such as someone else's clothing when you go in for a hug, the beautiful glass on your table at a restaurant or your teeth. Not to mention the upkeep throughout the day... So bravo to the women who wear it despite its inconveniences. You look beautiful! And your efforts certainly aren't going unappreciated.

Julia & Alex

Seattle Street Style
Mercer & Broadway on Capitol Hill
These two are so great. I ran into them in the summer Alex in an amazing jean jacket and Julia wearing a purse that used to be her mom's. They have been friends for a very long time and both have a big love for fashion. I love the contrast between the casual outfits I saw them wearing in the summer to the more buttoned up attire I found them in on this day.

Louis runs redpantsdigital.com. It brings me so much joy seeing men dressed like this. Put together but far from boring and with a little something unexpected. Louis' boots are Whites. Seeing him in these has me tempted to ask my mom to ship me the White boots I have tucked away in my parent's garage from when I was a wildland firefighter in college. They are an incredibly well constructed boot made for hiking long distances while withstanding weather and terrain. It might be time to put my Justin boots away and rekindle my reacquaint myself with my Whites...

Melissa is studying Harp at Cornish. It's funny to think back to when I was in high school applying to schools and I was trying to decide between Cornish, RISD and Albertson College (now College of Idaho). I ended up going to Albertson College so that I could study art and play on a soccer team. At that time I never could have guessed that ten years later I would end up living just a few blocks from Cornish. Funny how things work out.

Nikki told me about a market called Artache that she has been helping organize at Vermillion Gallery on the second Sunday of each month... So this sunday! It sounds pretty amazing. Fine art, handmade items, jewelry and vintage goods for sale at a place with great food and drinks? Not a bad idea I must say. It is from 3-8p which means you can enjoy happy hour while you shop.

Erica

Seattle Street Style letterman jacket

There is something so perfect about letterman jackets in my eyes right now. Maybe it is nostalgia over my high school years but what I think might be more likely is how it is just something different... this great mix of boyishness and clean preppy lines. It works with just about everything in the same way that we've all been wearing our slim fitting motorcycle jackets for the last few years. You can wear one casually like Erica or throw it over a floor length skirt and high boots. I found my blue and cream vintage one at Indian Summer on Capitol Hill. I've seen a lot of them on Etsy too.

Nordic Fashion Biennale

This is the last week to see the Nordic Fashion Biennale in Ballard. I finally got a chance to check it out on Saturday and it was a truly spectacular exhibit. Sunday is the last day these beautiful designs will be on display here in Seattle. Rather than inundate you with photos I'll let you go check it out for yourself but here are a few things that really caught my eye...

Where do I even start? These two are so lovely. Unique thrifted clothing, bold hair, the heels on Emily's shoes and that great bag tucked behind Chelsea's feet... and let's not forget that perfect big gold watch. I'm glad I ran into these two on their coffee date because pretty soon here they are both moving to NYC. So exciting, have fun ladies!
