Last weekend we went and stayed with our friends John and Kathleen at Finnriver Farm and Cidery just south of Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula. It was such a perfect weekend escape from the city. In the mornings and evenings we walked around the farm, visited the animals and drank cider then during the day Finnriver was the perfect jumping off point to head out to the beaches and rainforest trails on the west side of the peninsula. It felt like we were all the way across the world in Scandinavia while wandering the rolling grassy hills with the chill in the air and the cozy blanket of clouds. Kathleen and I even made a Danish Koldskål a la My New Roots.
