I mentioned Curtis Steiner and his Ballard shop/gallery Souvenir (one of my very favorite places in the city) a few months back. I recently visited his website and watched this interview about him, the gallery, and the inspiration behind the art he creates. Watching this video really brought to life how talented this man is and how lucky we are to have such incredible artists living in this city. Souvenir is a hands on experience where you are encouraged to open drawers filled with treasures, play dress-up with the jewelry, and best of all... interact with the artist behind it all. It is such a special place. I always make sure to stop in when I am in the area and I always make a point to get in when friends come into Seattle to visit.
