Cyber Dog

For the longest time I never even thought to check out Cyber Dogs because from the name and the look of the storefront it just never seemed like it could be the incredible vegetarian restaurant that it is.  Vegetarian or not, if you haven't tried the food here you are missing out.

The owner had a booth at Veg Fest last year and I was blown away after trying all of vegetarian hot dogs, chilies, and other creations.  I was shocked when she told me that her restaurant was Cyber Dogs.  Well, I have been stopping by the cafe for their amazing home cooked creations since.  I also love that I can specify if I want them to prepare an item as a vegan meal and whether I want a bun or baked potato as a base for the dog.

We had dinner with friends there last week and I got to try a few things that I had never ordered before.

Mama Tatiana:  Tomatoes, artichoke hearts, fresh basil & garlic with parmesan cheese baked on an Italian "sausage"

Dog from Ipanema: Long grain rice, black beans, tomatoes, coconut milk, heart of palm, walnuts, cilantro, avocado, and onions on top of Brazilian "Beef".

DoggiLama:  House spinach sauce with potatoes, spices and veggies on a veggie sausage.

Hungarian Gulash Dog:  Potatoes, "Beef" Kraut, celery, carrots, and noodles stewed with Hungarian spices topped with "Bacon" and onions all served on top of a veggie sausage.

And of course, no Cyber Dogs meal would be complete without a Laffy Taffy...  I always hope that they will give me a strawberry one.  We also grabbed a bunch of vegan Oreos out of the counter cookie jar.  Dessert at this spot is never an easy choice with all of their options (many vegan).
