Jamee

Broadway & Pine

Jamee works for Seattle Goodwill, hence the awesome thrift finds he is wearing. How great would it be to get first dibs on the clothes that filter through a second hand or consignment shop. Jamee said that he saw these shoes in Barneys at one time and they later found their way into Goodwill... in his size. Such a great find.

Jonathan Warman and Fences

I caught Jonathan on his way to the Paramount and he was kind enough to have a seat for a photo and to talk about his music. I also found out that Jonathan is one of the lucky few in Seattle that get to live and work as an artist in one of the cities very rare historic loft apartments in Pioneer Square.

Jonathan plays bass for Seattle band Fences. Check out the bands blog and Myspace page and see them play at the SAM Remix on Thursday June 3rd from 5:30-7:30 (this is also the opening of the Kurt exhibit). They will also be performing at Capitol Hill Block Party, Bumbershoot and Doe Bay Music Festival.

And... there's more! Jonathan recently produced, mixed and engineered an album for one of my favorite Seattle groups Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band. You can download an exclusive listen of the track "Leaving Trails" at SPIN magazine's website.

Jason & Mark Nava of JNava Clothing

On their recent trip to Seattle Jason and Mark of Denver's JNava clothing got in touch with me and we met up for coffee to talk about fashion and blogging. These two are working hard to bring Denver and their online shoppers a line of quality clothing that is close to their hearts and true to their imaginations. It was really refreshing to talk to two people so excited about their vision. Check out the JNava site and their blog. Mark recently did a few posts about their visit the Northwest.

Nico Cox of Natural Curiousities

While shopping at City People's recently I spotted this lovely lady and was smitten by her gorgeous up do and unique outfit styling. After taking a couple photos Nico told me that she makes jewelry locally. Her line is called Natural Curiosities and all her creations are handmade, one of a kind, and created using natural organic materials ranging from precious stones and coral to butterfly wings and tree bark. I planned on posting my favorite piece but was unable to choose. Her work is quite amazing... check out her anthology of work.

Michael Cepress & Jeremy Baird

I ran into Michael and Jeremy at the Fremont Sunday Market. You may remember Michael Cepress from a post I did about his designs last year. His creativity never ceases to amaze me. Check out his website and blog Soul of a Seamster.

Nani Oei Photography

Being best friends with someone since age 4 is a rare thing. Throw in living across the country from each other since 4th grade and it becomes even more unique. This is my relationship with my best friend Jessica. She flew here this weekend from Rhode Island and had the great idea of having a local photographer follow us around for a couple hours while we wandered the city. She did a random search on Craigslist and happened upon Nani Oei. I don't know how we lucked out but Nani turned out to be an incredible find! She is such a talent and has a way of capturing every moment exactly the way it feels. Jess and I were so thrilled to see the photos today and I had to share this local talent with you all. If you are in need of a photographer for anything... wedding, new baby, or even just hanging out with someone important to you... Nani is absolutely amazing at what she does and she is such a joy to spend time with. We both felt like we had known her forever. Thanks Nani!

Check out her Facebook page, blog and website to see new photos that she takes.

Emerson Made my day

I was greeted by this splendid little flower in the mail a few days ago. I did a write up on Emerson Made when I first discovered their blog and webstore last year and I have been eyeing their lovely handmades on a regular basis ever since. In the words of Emerson, these gorgeous flowers are "perfectly imperfect". Need a little inspiration for creating unique outfits? You will find lots of it on their website.

Thank YOU Emerson!

Annie

Annie- In front of Pacific Place

Annie works for Via C at Nordstrom. These boots are phenomenal and stand out against her elegant and simple outfit. I must say though, I am very biased when it comes to the men's button up shirt. Over the last year it has become a staple piece in my wardrobe. Denim, pin stripe, blue oxford... all purchased in the mens department. I feel like these button ups are all I wear lately and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Going Home

I've been traveling a lot lately... hence the less than daily posting. One of my recent trips brought me home to spend time with my family and the weekend was filled with better-than-restaurant cooking by Mom and a few beautiful days outside enjoying the last bits of winter in Idaho. Much of it was very photo worthy...

Thai scallops over noodles

Our telemark route in the Teton Pass
Taking a lunch break at the top of the Mountain

Edemame Sesame Salad
BBQ'ed veggies over Israeli Couscous

I came home well fed with tired legs and a sunburned face. As always, a perfect trip.

Andrew- 11th & Pike on Capitol Hill

My eyes have been gravitating towards Chukka boots over the last sixth months. I think everyone looks good in them. Guys, girls, kids... They starting are starting to pop up in a lot of stores. I really like what J Crew has done with their ever classic MacAlister boot in the last two season.
