Silence Heart Nest Vegetarian Restaurant

Silence Heart Nest is a Breakfast/Lunch spot in Fremont that specializes in hearty vegetarian and vegan dishes. Dining here is an experience in both Indian and American spiritual and food traditions. The attire of the servers is a traditional Suri and food is prepared with peace and good intent which Eastern cultures believe brings the best prepared meal. What you will not find at this restaurant is a preachy attitude... only delicious and satisfying veg creations. We ordered the house special, a "Neatloaf" made with savory herbs, grains, ricotta, tofu, and rice topped with a tangy BBQ sauce and served with mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy. This dish was incredible. It will be so hard for me to try something new the next time I eat here.

We also ordered the Mac and Cheese cooked with smoked mozzeralla and white cheddar cheese in a creamy Béchamel sauce. This is going right up there for me with my favorite Mac and Cheese creations at Beecher's, Purple, and Hillside Quickie (Mac & Yease!). From what I have read on their site Sacred Heart's Mac and Cheese is a take on a favorite dish once served at Longshoreman's Daughter, the restaurant formerly in this spot before Sacred Heart took over.

If you are in the Fremont area for brunch I highly recommend stopping in at this wonderful diner. The menu offers something for everyone, even those usually weary of vegetarian cuisine.
