Saturday I stopped by the Steampunk Swapmeet in the basement of All Pilgrim's Church on Broadway. Prior to this I was only partly familiar with what Steampunk was. The swapmeet was filled with creative fashion, clever handmades, and extremely friendly people. Even in my bright colorful summer dress I was quickly welcomed as a shopper and I learned all sorts of things about this super crafty sub-culture.
As and avid treasure hunter I spent most of my time digging though boxes of knick knacks, clothing, and vintage jewelry. I picked up so many amazing clip-ons to turn into stud earrings and I also found a seriously fantastic turban hat (an odd statement to make, I know).
